When you walk through the door of the South Gippsland Citizens’ Advice Bureau with a problem or a query, you will be greeted in a friendly manner by a well-trained volunteer . Whatever you need, be it advice on a personal matter, or the directions to a tourist attraction in the area, you will receive helpful attention. If the matter is private, then it will be dealt with in privacy. The aim is to provide our clients with the right information, so that they are able to make their own decisions. Talking things over with someone who listens usually clarifies a situation, and a resolution can be more easily reached.
The Citizens’Advice Bureau ( referred to as the CAB ) has a large range of publications covering tourist information , brochures on legal matters, citizen’s rights and responsibilities, health and safety, transport, information for seniors, and so on. Searches can be made via the internet to locate even obscure items of information on almost any topic. As a client, you can expect to be guided in the right direction by the volunteers.
The CAB has a very comprehensive data base of the area’s organisations, including sporting , recreational, educational, cultural, religious, business, tourism, and many more. This database is compiled and maintained by the efforts of the volunteers.
